Our practice has been awarded the 'RCGP Active Practice Charter'
As a practice we recognise the health benefits of regular physical activity and breaking up
time seated or lying awake. We have been awarded for achieving the RCGP Active Practice
Charter by making the following active changes:
- To reduce sedentary behaviour in staff by:
Utilising standing desks, calling patients in verbally, introducing walking and standing meetings
- To reduce sedentary behaviour in patients by:
Seated exercises available in the waiting room, standing consultations as an option
- To increase physical activity in staff by:
NHS gym discounts available to staff, introducing practice challenges for physical activity
- To increase physical activity in patients by:
Local physical active groups advertised, staff trained in the priciples of physical activity
- To be part of an active community we have partnered with:
We are a PARKRUN practice, we join the "Barlaston Strollers" health walks
Regularly active people have lower health risks
